May Wrap-Up and What’s next

Hello!

Today, marks the end of Wyrd & Wonder which has been wonderful month of all things fantasy! I have loved the chance to find more blogs, talk fantasy and find more books to add to the towering TBR.  In terms of my May TBR for this challenge I finished 3/5 books, I am currently reading ‘The Bone Ships’ by RJ Barker and I decided to leave ‘Blade’s Edge’ by Virginia McClain until June as part of another challenge.

May, in general has been a very bookish month (hello Lockdown), and I have posted more here than in the previous months (something I want to keep up even when I do eventually get to go back to work). I have checked off a load more squares of #armedwithabingo and I am currently sat on 73/200 for my Goodreads challenge (9 behind apparently, although I know I have a couple more to add).

Here is a summary of this month on the blog:

So, what’s next…?

Alongside trying to get through my own TBR (which is weeping at me by this point), my netgalley shelf (currently: ‘We Ride the Storm’ – Devin Madson, ‘The Bone Shard Daughter’ – Andrea Stewart, ‘Ashes of the Sun’ – Django Wexler, ‘Fates of Ruin’ – Jo-Anne Tomlinson and ‘To Sleep in a Sea of Stars’ – Christopher Paolini) and book tours. I will be rereading ‘City of Brass’ and ‘Kingdom of Copper’ by S.A. Chakraborty this coming week in preparation for the release of ‘Empire of Gold’.

I have also signed up for the Indie Fantasy Addict’s Summer Challenge, a three month challenge June- September reading as much indie fantasy as I can, which brilliantly coincides with the start of SPFBO 6 which I had wanted to read along with this year (while still catching up on books from previous competitions). I will be kicking off this challenge tomorrow with ‘From Cold Ashes Risen’ (War Eternal #3) by Rob J. Hayes which I have been staring at longingly for the last few days since it was released, telling myself to wait for the challenge, and I will be reviewing as many indie books here on the blog as I can.
